Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. (1 Corinthians 14:34)

Where does the law say this?

Does "as also saith the law" refer to the obedience, to "for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience", or to the whole verse?

In nmy view, the ref to 'law' is general to the OT scriptures, rather than to 'a' law or specific statute/ordinance. The referent in the v is 'obedience' and not the 'silence.' In the logic of the passage, silence of a certain kind in a particular context (worship) is an outflow or theological conclusion derivable from the study of scripture on the topics of worship, obedience, office, and other combined.

A common cross-reference is Gen 3:16: 'Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.'

Another is Numbers 30:3-13, about vows of women.
