The biblical i.e. covenantal promises respecting children.

These must have all fallen to the ground in the first century if the Baptist position is correct, because they, for the most part, hold that the children of those adults that profess the faith are in no sense in the Covenant of Grace.

The children of your servants shall dwell secure; their offspring shall be established before you.(Psalm 102:28, ESV)

But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children, to those who keep his covenant and remember to do his commandments. (Psalm 103:17-18)

Texts such as the above and many others are completely evacuated of meaning by the individualistic baptistic approach.

The fact that many born into Covenant families fail to lay hold of the promise, that is being held out to them by Christ in His providence, because of faithlessness on the part of their parents in raising them and/or their own faithlessness doesn't disannul the faithfulness of God.

Then what advantage has the Jew? Or what is the value of circumcision? Much in every way. To begin with, the Jews were entrusted with the oracles of God. What if some were unfaithful? Does their faithlessness nullify the faithfulness of God? By no means! Let God be true though every one were a liar, as it is written, "That you may be justified in your words, and prevail when you are judged." But if our unrighteousness serves to show the righteousness of God, what shall we say? That God is unrighteous to inflict wrath on us? (I speak in a human way.) By no means! For then how could God judge the world? (Romans 3:1-6)
