Does anyone know what the Reformers thought of the new world at time? Have they heard about it or did they still think it was it was Asia? What about the people they heard about?

They had certainly heard of it, and I believe that it was Vespucci that proved it was a different land mass than Asia in 1502, but whether or not that got into the interior of the continent, I don't really know. I would love to see some quotes of the Reformers directly referencing the New World, but all I can contribute is this by Dr. Joel Beeke:

which includes a discussion on the early mission from Geneva to Brazil.
