This Dec I will be preaching at a very cool historic church. The Building was Built in 1915 by my great-great uncles & g-g grandfather so that they would not have to travel the 6 miles or so to the nearest church.

So family members restored the building begining 5 years ago & 2 services a year are held there with various ministers & lay-preachers from the family filling the pulpit. Many of those that come never go to any church other then these 2 services, so the sermons are always gospels centred.

The road that the church is on is still unpaved & only a couple of cabins are left where a small village stood 100 years ago.

The driving force behind the restoration was twofold. to maintain a historic building & evangelism. My cousins that were the driving force on the project are christians & they had the vision that people would attend a "family" service that would not go to church otherwise.

The family that built the church were Loyalists from New England & were descendants (as are we) of 3 (!) Mayflower passengers.

Here is the only on-line photo that I could find, A Few Words From The Fisher Hill Baptist Church - Rasmussen Company | The Cookbook Printer
