I'm sort of in seminary, and I've taken my church history, but the course predictably jumped from Luther to Calvin to England, and pretty much ignored further Continental developments.

It was only on PB that I saw references to the Leipzig Interim, the Augsburg Interim, and the term "Gnesio-Lutherans." I'm having a little trouble putting it all together just from wikipedia. Seems like there was a lot of politics involved.

Half of my ancestry is Lutheran, and my wife's ancestors came to America after being kicked out of Salzburg for being Lutheran, so I'd like to know more about what happened to Lutheranism between Luther and the LCMS services I've been to.
What are some good, comprehensive sources that I might look into?
Thanks.

I know Dr. Scott Clark was interviewed on Issues ect. as someone Reformed who truly understood Lutheranism. Maybe he'll pop in on this one with a recommendation.
