JWs and the speaker in Rev 22

Puritan Board Freshman
Hi all

I am going to be speaking to a JW soon and am busy preparing. I am going through the various passages in the Bible where e.g., the same attributes are used to describe Jehovah and Christ. I read the following thread: https://www.puritanboard.com/threads/proving-the-trinity.6330/

However, I have one problem with the argumentation from Rev 22. In 22:9, the speaker says "I am a fellow servant with you and your brothers the prophets, and with those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” But in 22:13, the speaker says: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” In 22:16, the speaker says: "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."

The normal argumentation would go that, in Rev 1, Jehovah calls Himself the Alpha and Omega, and there can only be One such, thus, when Christ calls Himself that, He is pointing out that He is God. But it seems that Rev 22 would be too difficult to use with a JW, as they may point out that the speaker denies being God in v.9.

Any insights?

Seems to be a different person speaking from verse 12.
Would be interesting to hear how you get on.
