I have to write a paper on the Westminster Assembly's doctrine of infant baptism over the next month. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any general encyclopedias covering the post-Reformation period that could help me find more sources. I've looked at my local university library and found an encyclopedia for the Reformation but nothing for the 17th century. I feel like it would help a lot to get general background before I start dredging through EEBO.

Or if anyone has any other suggestions, I welcome them.

Thanks in advance!

There is a couple page article on Baptism in the Dictionary of Scottish Church History & Theology that has a section on the Reformation and another after Westminster; may be a few sources for more sources cited.

David Dickson's small commentary on the Westminster Confession would be useful given he was a contemporary of the Scottish representatives to Westminster. I would also read Ursinus's commentary on the Heidleberg Catechism may be useful in comparison any differences in theological empresses.
