He was the poster child for why civil engineers, of which he was one (BS, UC Berkeley, 1942), should stick to civil engineering...

What a horrible legacy. And everything points toward him having believed it to the core throughout his ministry. Hordes of lives in ruin. Media field days. Christ's name made a fool. Good grief.
