From Galatians chapter 3:
This passage quite confuses me, and not for the first time.
Basically, it seems to treat the uniquely Mosaic parts of the law and the moral law in one. It would not surprise me if this is a popular passage among antinomians, though such an interpretation would...

When I became Reformed, I embraced the Westminster Confession of Faith and it says that we cannot have images of Jesus even in our minds.
However, I remembered that Jesus became man. In its 33 years here, it has been seen by many people. And his own disciples had a memory of his appearance.

I was listening to a podcast with Scott Clark and Michael Horton about Eastern Orthodoxy. Horton mentioned that images (a were made necessary to salvation at Nicea II in 787) had been forbidden at the Council of Ephesus (431).
Does anyone have the information about the discussion of images at...
This morning as I was reading the Larger Catechism's exposition of the second commandment, I came across this:
"The sins forbidden in the second commandment are...the making any representation of God, of all or of any of the three persons, either inwardly in our mind, or outwardly in any kind...

The Eastern Orthodox claim that their church has an "unbroken" history back to the Apostles. While, first, a Biblical Christian would want to note that ancient history is never made a criteria for the truthfulness of a faith, in this case, we can take on this claim with history. Let's take the...
I have posted this 2009 article very slightly modified at Naphtali Press.

I work for a Christian organisation in the UK. I recently helped with a deputation meeting for my organisation at a Baptist Church and at the front of the building was a quilt with a picture of the Lord Jesus Christ on it. This is clearly a violation of the second commandment and I wasn't happy...
