Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7: 25
Hebrews 7: 25
Many times, we hear that salvation is free. Is this a true statement? Is salvation really free? Salvation is free for the sinner in terms that we can do nothing to earn it or merit it. However, salvation does cost something and did cost someone. Sinful men and women were purchased by Christ’s blood on the cross. Salvation cost Christ his death on a Roman cross.
The price of salvation is not cheap. Christ shed his precious blood for rebellious sinful men and women. Christ suffered and died alone for sinners. Never think of salvation as being free, salvation has a very high price and is of the greatest value. Salvation is not free; it costs the price of blood. Jesus Christ is our Passover lamb. He died in the place of sinful people. He paid the debt and made us free. The debt we owe God for sin is so vast we can never meet the requirements.
Today, as you go about your day think about Christ and his worth. He values your soul worthy of dying for. Do you regard Christ worthy enough to live for? The world around us never gives lasting peace, never truly satisfies, never gives lasting joy. The Lord Jesus Christ provides all our needs and gives a peace that passes all understanding. Those in Christ have joy in abundance even in the midst of hardship and trials. Those who trust in Christ have an assurance that God will sustain them through hardship. Take the time today to thank Christ for what He has done and what He does for you daily.
